Transport Facilities.

From the different parts of India to the Kashmir valley, Air, Road and Railway connections are available.

Railways: Indian Railway provides services to all visitors till Jammu region only and a Baramullah to Srinagar to Udhampur sector railway line is under construction which is supposed to be completed by the year 2007 which will prove to be a great boon to all visitors as Kashmir will be connected to the rest of India by railway services.

Roadways: Jammu is connected to Srinagar by the beautiful and scenic Jammu Srinagar Highway. It crosses over many mountain passes and goes through the world famous Jawahir Tunnel which is 2.5 Kms in length.
From Srinagar to different tourist places, various buses, Sumos, Taxis and Auto rickshaws take the visitors to their destinations.
The main Taxi/ Sumo stand is opposite to the TRC in Srinagar. Batamaloo bus stands provides bus service to remote places all over Kashmir.
You can also experience the Exclusive Journey by boats at many places.
The most reliable service is provided by J&K SRTC with its fleet of buses which also plans to include Volvo Buses in its fleet soon.

Airways: The main Airport in Srinagar is at Humama. It is going to become an International Airport very soon and flights will be available to and from all over the world.
