Situated on the banks of the River
Jhelum, the SPS Museum stands as a forgotten treasure house of
ancient Art, Architecture and years of Kashmiri Civilization
buried beneath the dust of our busy day to day life.

The Museum houses multiple sections
displaying a variety of priceless mile stones from our Rich past.
It consists of the following sections.
Art: Featuring miniature paintings
each the size of a postal stamp, done with extreme precision and
hard work.

Clay images of as back as 9th
century AD.

Statues done both in Rock and Solid
Brass, including one of the Hindu Lord featuring his 21
Avatars.

How to reach it. |
|
The SPS Museum is located only 1 KM
away from Rajbagh or a Rs1 ride by Shikara to cross from Lal Chowk,
the heart of Srinagar to the museum.
The Museum can be accessed by Boat,
Bus, Car or Auto Rickshaw. Visitors need to take a Rs2 Ticket per
person. Photography is not permitted inside the premises. |
